Reading your Team Trades summary tonight about DISH, I had to wonder if you ever place limit orders ahead of time and then subsequently make the buy trade in the pre-market trading hours, rather than waiting until the public open of the market? (May 5, 2001)
Wow. You must have been reading our minds that morning. We were looking at DISH and pondering whether to buy before hours. We held back just because even before hours trading can fade just as the futures fade when the real market opens and the millions of investors hit the tape. That held us back, and as you note, we were looking to see if the stock was going to have a quick pullback or race higher. We saw the quick move and decided a partial position was good. As it turns out, buying in the pre-market would have been great.
